Our client is a startup company in neuromorphic computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning with locations in France, The Netherlands and the USA.
Responsibilities
The Architect will provide technical guidance to the company´s development, ranging from neural network hardware design to commercial applications of different types of artificial intelligence solutions. Based on a deep understanding of the latest research in neuromorphic computing, the Architect develops the roadmap for the different families of neuromorphic compute engines, in line with the requirements of various high-growth markets.
The roadmaps takes into account the technical and physical characteristics and constraints of e.g. silicon implementation processes and software development and optimization techniques.
In order to adequately steer development processes, you bring critical understanding of neuromorphic compute architectures. The Architect will be part of the company’s engineering organization, yet works closely together with Program Management, and Business Development departments.
The Architect reports directly to the company’s VP of Engineering.
As a leading member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the architecture descriptions and documentation of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, software stacks, and integrated neuromorphic silicon IPs
Through application of common engineering practices, such as strict requirements management, the Architect will ensure timely delivery of specifications and architecture definitions. These architecture definitions span the full spectrum of artificial intelligence developments within the company, ranging from deep learning applications to hardware block definitions.
You will define the key performance and power metrics to which these solutions need to adhere. In order to predict and measure these key performance metrics, you will develop analysis tools, such as performance simulators. You will work together with an infrastructure team that provides the compute, integration, and test reporting resources. You will also work together with tooling teams that develop automated neural network design and programming tools. And you will work with application teams, both internal and with customers, who provide key insights on requirements, performance metrics, robustness, and stability of the company’s solutions.
You will work with a highly diverse international team of skilled engineers. This team is currently being built in different locations in France, The Netherlands, and the US.
Profile
- M.Sc or Phd in Computer Science, Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, or related field;
- 5+ years of experience in the fields of artificial intelligence, deep learning, and/or neuromorphic computing;
- Proven experience in architecting end-to-end solutions, consisting of both software and hardware;
- Proven experience in technical leadership roles;
- Experience with common requirements management practices;
- Good understanding of hardware development and software development practices;
- Excellent problem analysis skills;
- Excellent communication skills in English (both speaking and writing).
